All the best for 2009

January 4, 2009 | Category: Inspiration

I want to thank everyone who has come to visit me in blogland last year. And I want to thank those who left such sweet and inspiring comments. This all gives me confidence to continue keeping my blog and be creative in the new year 2009.

To start the new year blank, I found some inspiration in the book ‘Broderie blanche’, besides all those colorful things I love white very much as well.

Thoughts for the new year

On my last birthday (in december) I received such sweet and wise words from my best friend, I want to share a few of those with you. Some years ago she gave me a book for live, it’s only available in Dutch, sorry.. (Nog vele jaren, De symboliek van elk levensjaar). And one of the things this book explains is the learning cycle of your live, that’s divided in phases of 7 years each. This year 2009 my 6th phase starts, and the words are on the point of attention for me in this phase:

“In this 6th phase you have one nice challenge: connect head, heart and hands (your feelings, thoughts and deeds) you will become a more ‘complete’ human being by achieving that. To accomplish this, it’s important to focus on certain things and to let go of other things.”

For me the focus will be on: being creative with felt, fabrics and yarn. During last year it became clear to me that being creative was something I missed before, I lost it somewhere on the road of study and work.

And all of you are really helping me to focus, thanks!!

What a wonderful book. I wished I would understand some dutch. I know exactly what you mean and how creativity is important in our lives. I love to create things but most of the time I forget how wonderful it is.

Blogging about it and rereading it after a while is very helpful. As well as other creative blogs as yours. Hopefully I find more time doing things than reading others inspiring creative blogs. But thank you for yours and have a great creative 2009.
