My granny square blanket is steadily growing now
July 8, 2009 | Category: Crochet
About a year ago I started to crochet my own granny square blanket. I saw a picture on the internet of one with a lot of candy pink, and a strong feeling struck me that I wanted one of those for myself. So I started with buying a lot of Rowan cotton in the most yummy colours and gave it a go. I decided that I should sew the squares together because that would give a neat look. How wrong was I! I really hated the sewing and after two rows I gave it up, and the squares disappeared in a bag under my bed, to be never touched again…
But thanks to Lucy who described the granny square joining as-you-go method, I started again, and I am now steadily going. At the moment I already finished the third row, I’m so happy that I can see it being finished now. The only question is how I am going to block the blanket when it’s finished, because it really needs that I think.
