I thought I needed a challenge to try something new, so I submitted to the  In the Good Ol’ Summertime Mini Quilt Swap. My partner’s favourite colour is blue so that was something to start from with my design. I want to try a scrappy quilt with a panel where I can add a summer bird with applique or embroidery. I really like to try a crocheted edging, so I might add that as well to the binding. In the left picture you can see the fabrics I picked from my stash, they really look swimming pool blue, don’t you think?

At the right you can see a glimpse of my desk where I have my computer and where I can put up my sewing machine.

Hi Petra, I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now and have finally decided to be brave and leave a comment! :-) I love the colours for the summertime quilt and think the crochet edge will be a brilliant idea! Your blog is lovely and colourful and your creativity is amazing.

    Hi Petra,

I am in the Good Ole Summertime Quilt swap too! This is my first quilt swap and I’m so excited. I am new to blogging and have added your blog to the blogs I follow (which aren’t many yet lol). I live in Missouri, USA and would love to communicate with other ‘crafty souls’ as you said. I think it would be fun to have blog pals in other countries, it will make me feel like I’m traveling around the world lol.

If you would like to exchange some fat quarters with me, I would love to have are unique to the Netherlands. Let me know :)

Hi Petra, nice to meet you. My husband’s family came to the US from Rotterdam at the early turn of the century. We visited Amsterdam the Netherlands a few years ago. Great time, and loved it all. Oh the flowers, in April were in bloom, so beautiful..
Quilting is my passion, and new and creative ideas always welcome.
You seem like a very happy soul…..Connie
