I have been making these christmas decorations as examples for my coming workshops. The fabric wreath is inspired on the beautiful wreaths of Holland Fabric House, the star is a design from Jenny from Allsorts, all others are my own design.

If you would like to come to my Atelier in Amsterdam to make christmas decorations, you could on Sunday december 6th or 13th. From 13:00 till 16:00 you are welcome to come and work on one or more of the projects. The price is € 40,- per person, this price includes 0,5m fabric of your choice, 4 pieces of wool felt, all ribbon and other haberdasheries you use, tea and/or coffee. Everything of the fabric and felt you don’t use during the workshop, is to bring home to make more.

At De Witte Engel I bought a little packet with felt, bells and a pattern to make this little garland with flowers and bells. In De Witte Engel you can find lots and lots of these kind of packages, which are very convenient when you are on vacation. They are simple and fast to make and everything you need is provided in the package. I made this garland in an afternoon.

This particular package is a design of Atelier Pippilotta she made a lot of other fun and cute designs with felt.

The day before I ruptured my achilles tendon, I spent an afternoon in my aunt’s studio. She does wet felting a lot and I wanted to learn the process for some time now. The picture above shows my first project. I was really excited when I actually felt the wool, soap and water doing their job. I still think it’s an amazing process how those fibers just ‘hook’ together and create a piece of wool fabric.

The next step is to be able to create items like the so beautiful created pieces on the Shabby Roses Cottage blog. I love them very much, and her blog is one of my favorites.

Today I also finished an order for a felt covered baby album. From time to time I get an order for a personalized photo album. I try to match the colors with the baby room or with the taste of the parents. The letters of the name I cut by hand from felt as well.

I also started a new project, again inspired by Lucy from Attic24. I want to have my own heart garland, so I can put it up anywhere I like, and I will have a smile on my face every time I look at them. I will add more colors, and then the flowers and butons…. anyway, I have to go again, my fingers are itching to create more of those hearts.

p.s. The other peek is a WIP that will take some time longer, but it’s red with white dots so I like it much too!

And this is one of the things I made for her birthday, I used the pattern of Jona from Stop staring Start sewing and Heather Bailey fabrics. And you can see the apron has been put to use immediately.

And look what I got in return: a very soft and warm crocheted scarf, a handy wrap for my sandwiches to take to work, a lovely felt heart and a crocheted rose, fabric covered pushpins and some cute buttons to please my button addiction and very cute note takers and magnet designed by Kers op de kaart. I love it, thanks An!

The day after, on saturday, I had invited 7 friends on my birthday party. We had tea and self made cake and I treated them with a felt workshop, they could make felt christmas ornaments, the ones designed by Jenny from Allsorts.

The week before I created the examples, I have put them together on a garland, I love it!

On christmas day the family joined at our place for dinner. It was nice to have them all over. My sister created the desert, it looked very festive and christmas:

After christmas day I did some crafting, I had to work on an order of party banners and a felt covered photo album:

And yesterday it was my mothers birthday. We went ice skating on the ‘pond’ at the Museumplein in Amsterdam (? I’m not sure if that’s the correct word for it…) Every year they freeze the pond and you can go ice skating with your own skates and it’s for free.

The coming weekend I have to work on an order of birthday banners (3), a felt covered photo album and a christmas theme swap. I have nothing else planned, so I can drown myself in crafting!
