My new summer dress

When I was at the Olmenhorst Pinsterfair last Sunday, I bought this happy new summer dress. I was actually looking for a red/white dotted dress, but when I tried this one, I fell in love. I kept it on after I bought it and could wear it the day after, but now we will have to wait for summer again.

The dress is from Talulabelle, on her website you can find a lot more creative dresses and skirts, have fun looking around!

These shops above are two of my favorite shops on Texel: ‘t Lant van Texsel and De Witte Engel.

‘t Lant van Texsel is full of lovely stuff for inspiration and just to have… they sell Rice, Anne-Claire Petit and lots of other stuff in my favorite colours. De Witte Engel is a shop full of crafting materials, especialy known for their felt and felting materials.

‘t Lant van Texsel is also called ‘Petra’s winkeltje’ (Petra’s store) by people who know me, I have no idea why…. ;-)

And look at those presents below, they make me happy every time I see them. the Pip cushions are a present from myself for myself. And the cute Anne-Claire Petit cat is a present from M. How did he know I’m such an Anne-Claire Petit fan…?

Basil 2010 catalogue

Yesterday I found an unexpected treasure at the bike shop, the Basil 2010 catalogue. I already own a very lovely shopper that I can hang on the back of my bike, so I knew the brand. But when my eye fell on this booklet in the rack, and I opened it up, my heart made a bump. It was full with lovely pictures and even paper cards that you can take out and use for tags on your presents or other things you like to liven up.

I just felt I needed to share this with you, maybe you have a bike shop nearby where you can pick up this little treausure.

I admire the work of Anne-Claire Petit. She designs funny crocheted things in the most adorable colors. All items are a huge inspiration to me, and some of them I would love to own myself, for example the vase with flowers seigh…..

Yesterday I was so lucky to find some anne-claire petit items on the ‘vrijmarkt’ in Amsterdam. And the funny coincidence was, I bought them from Anne-Claire Petit herself! I didn’t recognize her, but a lady next to me asked if she had made those items herself. I was thinking: ‘duh, no.. those are anne-claire petit items…’ But she answered: ‘no, but I designed them’. That answer made me look up with my mouth open, and asked ’so you are Anne-Claire?’ the answer was yes and that made me feel like a high-school girl again…. so funny!

Fancy pants

I did this wrapping last week, I loved it so much I had to take a picture of it.

Yesterday I made these fancy pants for the daughter of a friend. I like to create such girlie stuff, and I was looking for someone I could create it for. As the model wasn’t around during the creation process, I was a bit unsure if everything would turn out fine. And lucky me, it did! I didn’t have to do any adjustments, joehoe!

Crocheted hearts garland

I’m, almost there: the flowers are attached to the hearts, and the string is half way finished. Hopefully I can show you the completed garland this wednesday. I thought I could finish it today, but I found out that crocheting the string is more work than it looked like…

I have already selected the next crochet project, a flower garland. Look at this one Lucy created, I love it so much, it’s just too cute.

Vintage craft magazines and buttons

Last year I started to spread around that I love old sewing supplies, like buttons, fabrics and bands, and old craft magazines. And this week it was treasure week! My aunt has a friend who gave me her old magazines, and a friend of my mother cleaned up her mothers place and found a bucket full of buttons and I could have it, wow!

It starts to feel a lot like christmas…

The last days I’m aware of the short days here in The Netherlands, and together with the first christmas fair I visited, my inspirational thoughts are all in a christmas theme. So I had to buy some christmas goodies, the ribbons I bought at the christmas fair and are from East of India.

During my holliday in Japan I found this mushroom tea mug in a little store in Kyoto. It was late that night and I was tired, I didn’t buy it at that time, I thought ‘We will come here again, or I will find it in an other store’. But we didnt’ come back there and I didn’t find it in an other store, so at the end of our holliday I feld a bit sad that I didn’t decide to buy it at that time… and I would never see it again…. :-(

At home I started searching the internet, and a few months later I came across a British blog where I could buy the tea for one mug! Yesterday I received the package, with as extra pressent the mushroom stamps. I feel so happy now :-)
