What a busy week it was. I finally finished my book projects, I mailed them yesterday.

I posted the magazines for the give away, sorry Tuija for the delay.

On Wednesday I took care of my both nephews of 1 and 5 year old. It was really fun, I had to take the oldest one from school, we played with water, and had the nicest ice creams for dessert.

This weekend I worked hard for my shop update, I discovered Ravelry and started a new crocheted scarf project (I will show you the WIP this week), I had some busy days at the office, Thursday it was dinner time with a friend, after three weeks I just had to do the ironing, and my room could use some tiding but I saved that for later :-)

The coming week I can really use some relaxing and me time……

And oh yes, I took some pictures of the finished towel project. I made a grey one for our toilet, as the colours are black and white in there.

Sorry for being a bit absent lately. I told you about my crafting block earlier, it’s still there unfortunately. So today, on my day off from the office (I have that every Wednesday) I started organising the mess in the upstairs atelier, the living room and now my home office… And indeed it makes me feel better. I guess it’s all true what they say, an organised home gives an organised mind. I de cluttered a lot today, I will make my second trip to the old paper collection unit down the street, in a few minutes.

During my lunch break today, I went to the American Book Center, and flipped trough the latest issue of RealSimple and got even more inspired for de cluttering all the mess at home. Look at those colours and inspiring ideas, yummy I can feel the inspiration starting to flow again.

… and yes, a bit of chaos in my head too. So much to do, but nothing on a todo list or what-so-ever. I have no idea where my allergy for planning and structure comes from. I know I need it, I know it feels well when I have it, but it just seems to be too difficult to just do it, duh…

Today I was working from home, and during my lunch break walk I took these pictures. I love it when my neighborhood looks like this. It also keeps me in a kind of enjoying and relaxing mode, that might be a reason for not making my new years deadline with the shop…..

That’s not quite true, we worked hard for it. Yes we, because M is helping me a lot with the technical/programming part of the shop. It’s just sooooo much work…. But hey, what do those famous UK posters say, ‘Keep calm and carry on’… I just have to keep that in mind.

Wow, thanks everyone for the helpful feedback! First of all I’m going to buy a new black ink pad, with good ink so indeed the text will be better visible. Then I will also try some of the suggested color combinations, and I will show you the process here on my blog, I will share what I have learned. It might take some time before my next try, because some other ideas popped to be tried as well. It always goes with me like that, so many things that I want to try, so also a lot of unfinished projects…

As you can see in the pictures, since a week I’m a bit more mobile. I don’t have to keep my leg high all the time anymore, and I have beautiful pink cast now!

Sometimes I think that everyone is crafting around the world, because of that endless amount of inspiring blogs. But in my daily reality, that’s not the case…. No one in my neighborhood I know is crafting in any way, so when I am in desperate need of any feedback, I have no one to show my project and discuss…

But then I thought… hey why don’t ask for feedback on my blog! The case is: as you can see above I tried sewing on paper for the first time. But I’m not sure about the color combination I used. Would it been better if I used a different card color as background? And is the thread color contrasting too much? If so, what color would you suggest?

Last saturday I ruptured my achilles tendon during a tennis game. Yesterday I got surgery and now my leg has to stay in cast for 6 weeks.

It was the first time I had to stay in the hospital and I was very afraid for the surgery and anaesthesia. But all the nice people of the OLVG in Amsterdam helped me trough, so it didn’t become a traumatic experience.

So the coming weeks I will have lot’s of time for crochet and embroidery… ;-)
